Regulated industries
Legal, medical, and financial baselines, plus required disclaimers.

What "regulated" means here
Three industry packs trigger heightened compliance: Legal, Medical, Financial. Each has:
- Pack-specific prohibited phrases (see Compliance scanner).
- Required disclaimers appended to every draft.
- Stricter source-citation requirements for claims.
- A "high-severity" default on warn-level flags (they block instead of warn).
This doc walks through what each pack enforces. The rules are not legal advice — they reflect common regulator expectations, but your jurisdiction may differ. Consult counsel for your specific situation.
Legal pack
Prohibited
- "Guaranteed outcome," "guaranteed win," "guaranteed settlement" — block.
- "Best lawyer," "top attorney," "#1" without state-bar substantiation — block.
- "Free consultation" without conditions specified — warn.
- Promises about specific case outcomes — block.
- Disparaging other firms by name — block.
- Implying licensure in jurisdictions you're not licensed in — block.
Required disclaimers
- "Past results do not guarantee future outcomes."
- "This content is for informational purposes and is not legal advice."
- "Hiring a lawyer is an important decision — request information about our qualifications before deciding."
- State-specific bar disclaimers where required (configurable per state in workspace settings).
The disclaimer block is appended automatically and cannot be removed without an override. Overrides are audit-logged.
Specific to law firm marketing
- We do NOT generate testimonials. State bars typically restrict client testimonials in legal marketing — opt-in via workspace settings if your bar allows.
- "Specialist," "expert," and "certified" require backing certification details.
- Any case-result page requires a "results vary" disclaimer.
Medical pack
Prohibited
- "Cure," "treatment for [condition]" without licensed-provider validation — block.
- "Miracle," "breakthrough," "revolutionary" — block.
- "FDA approved" without verified product status — block.
- "Safe with no side effects" — block.
- Claims that the platform's content substitutes for medical advice — block.
- Drug brand names in promotional contexts without legal review — block.
Required disclaimers
- "This content is for informational purposes only and is not medical advice."
- "Consult a licensed healthcare professional for diagnosis or treatment."
- "Individual results vary."
- For supplement / wellness content: "These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA."
Telemedicine and HIPAA
We do NOT generate content that handles PHI. The content engine itself processes only your prompts and source materials — it doesn't see patient data and isn't HIPAA-eligible. If your workflow involves patient communications, use a HIPAA-compliant tool for that surface.
Financial pack
Prohibited
- "Guaranteed return," "guaranteed yield," "risk-free" — block.
- "Beat the market" without disclosure — block.
- "Tax-free" without jurisdiction-scoped substantiation — block.
- Future-performance claims without disclaimers — block.
- Recommendations to buy / sell specific securities — block.
- Implying SEC, FINRA, or FCA endorsement — block.
Required disclaimers
- "All investments carry risk, including loss of principal."
- "Past performance does not guarantee future results."
- "This content is for informational purposes only and is not investment, tax, or financial advice."
- "Consult a qualified financial professional before making investment decisions."
Insurance content
For insurance-specific content, additional language:
- "Coverage subject to policy terms and conditions."
- "Quotes are estimates; actual rates may vary."
- State-specific producer / licensing disclaimers.
Multi-jurisdiction content
For pages that target multiple jurisdictions:
- We use the most restrictive set of rules across all targeted jurisdictions.
- We append jurisdiction-specific disclaimers in a structured footer block.
- We refuse to claim licensure in any jurisdiction unless the workspace settings explicitly confirm it.
Updating disclaimers
Default disclaimer text is editable per-workspace at Settings → Compliance → Disclaimers. Edits go through a confirmation step ("are you sure?") because changing disclaimer text has legal consequences.
A workspace owner can completely override a disclaimer if their counsel prefers different language. The override is audit-logged.
Custom rules
On top of the pack baselines, you can add workspace-specific rules — see Compliance scanner.
When you're not in a regulated industry
The "Default" pack and other non-regulated packs still enforce the global rules (no fabricated stats, no PII leak, no misattributed quotes). They're lighter than regulated packs but not absent.
